Welcome! Eric J. Boyd Designs is the publishing imprint of me, Eric J. Boyd. I am an independent designer of story games based in Phoenix, Arizona. Here you can find information on all of my past and present game projects and buy my published games.

What is a story game? Essentially it is a game focused on allowing the players to tell a story together as they sit around a table or in their living room. If you are familiar with role-playing games, a story game is very similar, except that the focus is on building a story together, rather than solely playing your character. Most role-playing games can be (and are) played as story games, but some games are designed to emphasize story from the get-go in their mechanics. My designs are each intended to facilitate the telling of certain types of stories - be it the freewheeling pulp exploration of The Committee for the Exploration of Mysteries, the police investigations in the underbelly of utopia in Utopolis: Policing the Retrofuture, or the macabre competition to create life of In Frankenstein's Wake.

Each story game has its own page here on my site, so take a look around and feel free to tell me what you think.
